Join Carol and learn one of the most popular lace stitches of all time: feather & fan. The class project is the Urban Lace Infinity Scarf, a free pattern on Ravelry. The sample is knit with one ball of Berroco's Bozzolo. This yarn is 100% cotton and is very soft! It makes a lovely scarf/cowl that can be used on cool summer nights or as a colourful accent piece.
In the class, you learn a provisional cast-on, two decrease stitches and one increase stitch. The 3-needle bind off (required to finish the project) is demonstrated in class.

Maximum 8 participants.

Prerequisites:
Students must know how to knit and purl, but may be near-beginners.

Supplies Required:

  • 220 m of worsted-weight yarn. Suggested: Berroco Bozzolo.
  • 4.5 or 5 mm needles (straight needles or a circular needle at least 24" long);
  • 3 stitch markers

About the Instructor:

Carol Gee has been a passionate knitter for 40 years and has been teaching others to knit for 39. She started teaching her friends how to make Icelandic knit sweaters in the 1980s, managed a Lewiscraft store for a couple of years, worked at a yarn shop in Perth for several years, and has test knit for a yarn company and a few designers . She enjoys working with people, especially when she can share her love of knitting and fibre. She has lived in Kingston for three years, and is looking forward to meeting everyone!
